How to adjust the clasp on a mesh strap - EXPLANATION

Nothing difficult about it! We are happy to explain how you can easily do this yourself, without expensive tools. Read the steps below or watch our instruction video underneath the text.

In most cases, a Milanese strap, also known as a mesh strap, has an easy adjustable clasp. This means you can quickly adjust the strap to the right size without expensive tools.
  • Place your watch flat on a soft surface, so you do not damage it. A cloth on the table is a good option.
  • Then place a tool or small screwdriver in the opening to lift the flap.
  • You can now smoothly slide the clasp back and forth to the desired size, without any hassle.
  • Make sure the horizontal notches on the underside of the strap line up exactly with the notches on the clasp when you secure it.
  • Use the tool again to press the tab back down towards the end of the strap, or simply use your thumb if you are careful and make sure the steel pin does not bend.
TIP: In the video, we use our bestselling tool, the Springbar removal tool. You can use it not only to remove or fit spring bars, but also to shorten watch straps or, in this case, adjust your clasp!
